Loving Kindness Impacts Lives
Our residential programs, established by the State, serve as transitional homes where children removed from their family by court order after being declared “at danger”, are sent for protection. The Beer Sheva Emergency Center duplicates the optimal model developed at Succat Shalom; it serves children diagnosed similarly.
What We Do: The Center provides all of the child’s physical, emotional, therapeutic, medical and scholastic needs. Children are nurtured; they undergo diagnostic evaluation and treatment as required while living in a warm, safe environment. Our work is conducted on multiple levels to ensure rehabilitation and the child’s ability to progress toward achievement of a more positive future. Programs are implemented for parents and families as at Succat Shalom.
Changing Lives: The impact that the transition period at the Center has on children can be demonstrated by the actions of one past resident who, with his “new family” moved overseas for a number of years. Immediately upon his return to Israel, he drove to Beer Sheva seeking Anna, our Center director .
His haste was to thank Anna for all that she and her staff did for him. In his words – the loving kindness that you showed me during my time of need made my stay at the Center the most meaningful period of my life.
